TY Chapter 7: Dreamlike Moment

Despite being engulfed in the fearsome black flames, Hei Lang, for some reason, did not fall. He roared, he wailed, yet his body remained upright as he walked step after another toward the valley entrance.

His blood and flesh looked to be burning and melting. The flames has reached his soul, causing his mind to turn blank and lost. Even so, the man, who was experiencing a living hell, continued step after another forward.

Outside the valley, the clashes could be heard. It seemed that a fierce battle was ongoing.

When he finally approached the entrance, a person appeared on the path before him. The beautiful woman who came flying toward him was Yun Xiao Qing. She took a brief look at Hei Lang before her face drained of color. She pounced over and exclaimed, “Hei Lang, Hei Lang! You, you, what happened…”

At this moment, Hei Lang’s eyes had already lost focus, as the severe pain eroded his senses. Maybe it was because he was at a loss, or perhaps it was due to instinct, he leaned toward Yun Xiao Qing.

Frightened, Yun Xiao Qing screamed. Her arms opened up to support him, but unexpectedly, with the black dagger which he held firmly in his right hand, Hei Lang stabbed right through her chest.

Yun Xiao Qing’s voice came to a halt. A look of disbelief appeared on her beautiful face and she stared at the burning man. Her mouth opened and closed several times, but no voice came out. Then, facing the sky, she fell to the ground.

Her beautiful eyes widened, unwilling to believe what just happened. The blood from her chest pooled outwards, dyeing the ground around her the color of the red acacia flower.

Short moments later, a white figure appeared. It was Yun Jian rushing from outside the valley. He shouted, “There are strong enemies attacking us, there are a lot of them and they are very strong. Father… Ah! What happened! Hei Lang, what happened to you?”

Hei Lang leaned toward him. Yun Jian clearly saw his charred body, scorched from the black flames, and the gruesome mesh of blood and flesh. For an instant, he stared dumbfounded, unable to believe what his sight. Abruptly, he noticed a black dagger appearing in front of him. Under the terrifying flame lights, the dagger impaled his chest.

The two bodies locked together in a tight embrace.

Fresh blood spurted out. Yun Jian’s body went stiff, an incredulous look on his face. Even as terrifying black flames on Hei Lang continued to burn, it did not affect Yun Jian at all. It seemed that it would sear only Hei Lang’s flesh and blood.

Fresh blood from Yun Jian dyed Hei Lang red once again, turning him into a bloody man, head to toe. Along with the horrendous black flame burning on him, at this instant, Hei Lang looked like a demon from hell.

Yun Jian clutched his chest and fell over in weakness. His death imminent, he caught sudden sight of Yun Xiao Qing who lied close by. He appeared provoked and revealed a look of incredulity to Hei Lang. He roared furiously, “You… You even killed her…”

Before he could finish his words, the life-robbing black sword flew toward him in the darkness. Sou, it cut across his throat mercilessly, suppressing Yun Jian’s voice. Yun Jian slowly lowered his head, shaking it arduously before he falling over in death.

The black dagger was withdrawn, stained in the desolate color of red.

Hei Lang looked toward the dark heavens and released yet another howl of agony. The pain seemed to have destroyed his final thread of sanity. But, for unknown reasons, he did not stop his footsteps. Resembling a vile demon, he staggered forward in the dark valley, gradually blending into the darkness and disappearing from view.

Every foot print he left behind was accompanied by a pool of blood. In the darkness of the night, under the illumination of the wild flames, the bright red acacia flowers were seen sweeping in the wind.

The black flames continued to burn furiously, torching every single thing in sight. The entire world turned dark and it seemed that the only the frenzied howl and the unbearable sight of burning flesh and blood were left.

“AH!”

With the yell, Lu Chen awoke from his dream abruptly. He sat up, panting heavily. Beads of perspiration trickled down from his forehead. The thin blanket covering his body slid down, revealing his slim but powerful upper body. He paid no attention to that and continued gasping for air as he stared at the foreign-looking bed in front of him.

It was dimly lit outside the windows as dawn approached.

At this moment, from his side, a white tender arm stretched over and wiped the perspiration beads off his forehead. A gentle voice whispered, “Why, another nightmare?”

Lu Chen turned around and saw a beautiful woman lying beneath the same thin blanket. Despite a night of rest, she seemed slightly exhausted and there was a trace of lethargy on her. Her hair resembled the clouds, scattered over her white smooth shoulders. The thin blanket covered her breasts, revealing only an attractive and bountiful contour.

Lu Chen shook his head, replying, “Nothing much.”

With fingers as pale as white jade, the woman touched Lu Chen’s face lightly, caressing the skin from his temple, to his chin, and to his shoulders, displaying a striking contrast between his powerful body and her slender fingers. Her voice, at this moment at daybreak, possessed a dreamy quality that was fleeting and gentle; a voice that made one feel that he has yet to fully awaken his dream. She said, “You, really like to act tough. It is still early, so why don’t you…”

Lu Chen suddenly turned around to look at her and smiled, “Ding Dang, I only have a piece of Spiritual Stone left on me today.”

The woman was stunned momentarily and she lifted her head to gaze at Lu Chen.

Lu Chen continued to chuckle happily, his laughter gentle and sincere.

Abruptly, the thin blanket covering Ding Dang jerked as she kicked Lu Chen forcefully from beneath, revealing a portion of her snow-white skin. Then, her willow-like brows frowned as she spouted hatefully, “Smelly man, you only know how to speak nonsense. Why don’t you get lost!”

Lu Chen laughed heartily as he jumped off the bed. Then, he searched for his own shirt and pants from the messy pile of clothes on the floor and put them on with deft hands. He casually grabbed and threw the pile of dudou and robe toward Ding Dang, who was still loafing on the bed and smiled, “Wake up, wake up. I say, will you stop being so lazy? I think the weather isn’t bad today. Under such glorious morning light, why don’t we go for a walk outside?”

“Pi! It is still early in the morning, why the heck would I go out for a walk? The ones outside right now are probably those fools who work hard for an entire month just to earn a few pieces of Spiritual Stone.” Ding Dang wrapped herself tightly with the thin blanket, revealing only her beautiful face as she replied snappily.

Fallen God Curse -> Will be reflected as God Descension Incantation (Has the exact same meaning but different tone, sounds more appropriate right :D)

Lu Chen -> Literally means dust on the ground. It is a very humble name. (Pronounced as Lueue Chen, it is the hanyupinyin with 2 dots above the u)

dudou (肚兜) -> Some kind of underwear in the past. This. If you watch Chinese historical shows, that is what women always wear.

Robe (罗裙) -> While I say robe, it actually refers to something like a kimono but different. This.

Pi! -> Imagine the action of spitting on the floor in disdain (though you don’t actually spit)

Ding Dang addresses herself as 本姑娘 (this lady), which adds a haughty tone to her words.

Anyway, if you all didn’t notice, (I didn’t as well) the reason why he keeps using seems and as though is because he is interpreting the dream. Woah, mind blown.

At any case, I have to focus on my other project alr. My stockpile of translations (yet to be edited) is running out so I will have to put this on hold temporarily.
