Chapter 24: So you’ve learnt to play hard to get? (4)

Gu Yu Sheng seem to have something else to say, but for unknown reasons, he suddenly stopped.

He seemed to have fallen into a trance, looking lost for a moment, before regaining composure and smirked.

His laughter was short and concise, although similar to that of the mocking laughter he usually gives Qin Zhi Ai, there are some differences to be noted.

Accompanying his laughter, a decadent sadness of a prey being forced into a corner could be detected in the depths of his eyes. However, this look was quickly flooded by a cold alienation.

After which, he stretched out his hands to rearrange his clothes, open the door and left.

As the door closed, Qin Zhi Ai blinked her eyes and raised her head that was previously buried in her knees.

Fearful of others entering the washroom, she forced her sore body up, and with shaky legs, went to lock the door.

Such a simple action practically used up all the energy left in her. She weakly leaned against the cold door and slowly slide downwards back into a huddle position.

Qin Zhi Ai sat there stiffly for a long while before gradually regaining some awareness.

Her clothes were torn into pieces, unable to cover her body.

When she was forcefully pulled into the washroom by Gu Yu Sheng, she had dropped Zhou Jing’s bag outside. Therefore, she did not have any phone beside her, denying her the ability to call for outside help. Moreover, she was not sure whether the gathering downstairs had ended and thus did not dare to go out, fearing someone might see her in such an unkempt state.

Beside the sink, there is a little window. Qin Zhi Ai, alone in the washroom, stared through the little window, watching the evening sky set into darkness. It was then that a sound sounded from outside the washroom.

The knock came from a helper, here to clean the villa. From her words, Qin Zhi Ai was informed that the gathering had ended and, apart from her, everyone had left the villa.

This news brought relief to Qin Zhi Ai. She then troubled the helper to get her a change of clothes, not forgetting to take her set of tattered clothes with her when she left.

Upon reaching home, Qin Zhi Ai, without having dinner, went straight to shower and sleep.

Even though she meant to sleep, she could not fall asleep. She closed her eyes and let her thoughts wander. Out of nowhere, the words Gu Yu Sheng left in the evening before leaving appeared in her mind ‘If you are not scared of receiving such harsh treatment again, feel free to instigate grandfather to stay at my villa…’

feel free to instigate grandfather to stay at my villa… With just a mere ten seconds, Qin Zhi Ai had caught the drift of the situation.

So the one who called Gu Yu Sheng when she was grabbing Zhou Jing’s bag and turning to leave was grandfather.

Although she did not hear the exact words, she could guess that grandfather had probably said something along the line of wanting to move into Gu Yu Sheng’s house for a period of time.

Moreover, for the entire of today, she had spilled wine on his sleeve, fallen into his arms, and barged into the room he was resting in. He must be convinced that she had instigated these coincidences to pester him.

Therefore, grandfather’s call had the effect of adding oil to the fire, completely igniting Gu Yu Sheng’s temper.

  1. I’m so looking forward to when he discovers that she didn’t do anything and he put all the blame on her and even violated her, even more that she isn’t the one that was pestering him but someone from his past!
    Thanks for the translation.
