Chapter 33: Their former days (3)
When Gu Yu Sheng saw the bottle of green tea, he frowned and raised his head to look at her, a look of confusion flashing across his face. However, five seconds later, he impassively reached for the bottle of green tea, seeming to have comprehended something.
Thinking he had accepted her bottle of green tea, Qin Zhi Ai danced with joy internally while maintaining a calm facade.
Nonetheless, Gu Yu Sheng merely proceeded to twist the cap open. Without drinking the green tea, he handed the bottle back to Qin Zhi Ai.
Qin Zhi Ai was stunned, her mind failing to connect the dots of what just happened.
Right at that moment, Gu Yu Sheng’s hand phone suddenly rang. After looking at the caller ID, he picked up the call.
When the ended the call, Qin Zhi Ai regained her senses, finally managing to make some sense of out the situation. He had headphones on just now so he might not have heard what she said. She opened her mouth to explain to him, “I am not…”
She only managed to articulate three words when he suddenly stood up from his seat, grabbed his coat and ran out of the internet cafe without a single word.
He will never know that on that day, there was a girl standing next to him, trying to tell him, ‘I am not asking for help to open the bottle… I am offering you the drink.”
In Qin Zhi Ai’s mind, Gu Yu Sheng is perfect, just like the male leads in those manga she secretly reads in class, extravagant, elegant, pure and celibate.
However, Wu Hao had a different opinion. He advocated that although Gu Yu Sheng’s face and demeanour managed to fool everyone, he is far from perfect and even further from pure. He further added that within their group, he can be considered the most perverted one with the worst temper, has the strongest smoking addiction, lacks patience and has no conscience in his words. Of course, with his looks, even with a million faults, the ladies would still not condemn him. Instead, they labelled his attitude as having an unrestrained personality with charming bad boy qualities.
Irregardless, Qin Zhi Ai only believed her own eyes, turning Wu Hao’s words on deaf ears.
But that perception of hers only lasted till Xu Wen Nuan’s birthday when they gathered at the KTV lounge to celebrate her birthday. It was the first time she formally saw the real Gu Yu Sheng, and also the first time she personally experienced the ‘lack of conscience in his words’ Wu Hao mentioned.
On that day, Gu Yu Sheng seemed to be in a good mood, conversing with anyone who approached him.
Mid-celebration when everybody was high from drinking, someone had suggested leaving the room for the dance floor outside. Therefore leaving only him and her inside the room in a blink of an eye.
He was lazily leaning on the sofa, fiddling with his hand phone.
The lighting from the screen casted a gentle glow on his face that further defined his features while softening his contours.
However, not long after, probably due to the phone being out of battery, the screen blacked out.
Bummed out, he casually threw the phone aside, then raised both his hands to the back of his head and laid back down on the sofa, closing his eyes.
Qin Zhi Ai thought he would not notice her. She squatted in front of the table and pretended to eat a cake while stealing glances of him.
On the n-th time Qin Zhi Ai glanced at Gu Yu Sheng, the guy suddenly opened his eyes and addressed her, “Hey”.
